KEEL BOAT SAILING OR DINGHY SAILING
Our on-the-water sailing courses follow the curriculum of the Canadian Yachting Association (CYA). Upon successful completion of either our Basic Cruising or of the Basic Dinghy course, you will achieve the CYA standard - recognized world-wide.
Following the CYA system, our sailing courses are divided into two streams: Learn to Cruise (LTC) and Learn to Sail (LTS). The program you choose depends on the type of sailing you intend to do. LTC is taught on keel boats, which are larger with weight added to the boat to provide stability. LTS courses are taught on 420 dinghies. Smaller in size, you act as the weight and provide the stability. Both are excellent ways to start your sailing career.
CYA BASIC CRUISING
If you have ever dreamed of sailing the crystal blue waters of the Caribbean, keel boat sailing is the first step to get you there. This course is taught on 24 ft. keel boats. Successful students are awarded the CYA Basic Cruising Standards. Upon completion of the course you will be able to sail a day sailor safely and efficiently in moderate winds and sea conditions. You will also be able to demonstrate the necessary sailing skills required for the CYA Basic Cruising Standard.
